3 Mechanical Design

3.1 Position of the ATC


The ATC has to be positioned as close as possible to the last layer of the TOF in order to maximize the acceptance of the instrument. The position of the ATC is calculated taking into account the position of the TOF, a reasonable clearance of 10 mm, and the design of the ATC modules. Table 3-1 shows the Z coordinates of the AMS components. All values are w.r.t. the AMS Coordinate system.
