3.5 Aerogel blocks
3.5.1 Transmission of MEW Aerogel
The totality of the aerogel (180 Lt.) was delivered to the Collaboration on April 11, 1997. The aerogel blocks are under acceptance tests including the measurement of their optical transmission in the range between 250-800 nm, the measurement of the index of refraction and the size. The transmission curve of aerogel blocks as measured by MEW [3-3] is shown in fig. 3-3. The transmission is 81.3% at 400 nm which is acceptable for the construction of the ATC.
